Sooner4OU Commentary: This week’s game has become bigger with Alabama’s loss and K-State moving in to the top slot in the BCS rankings.  If OU can get the job done in Morgantown then they are lining themselves up for a potential BCS bowl bid.  If they continue to win out, a slot in the Fiesta Bowl becomes very likely.

During July’s Big 12 Media Days, lots of anticipatory chatter centered around a game that was nearly four months away.

West Virginia defensive end Will Clarke, speaking then of his team’s late-season showdown with Oklahoma, said, “In every season, you always have that one game that everyone circles, either in their mind, or their apartment, or somewhere.”

Saturday, as was expected, a coveted BCS berth will be on the line — for one team, at least — when the Big 12 stalwart and flashy newcomer meet in Morgantown.
