Only 77 more days until the Oklahoma Sooners kickoff against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks.
Three Truths and One Lie:
Truth #1 - On November 8th, 2003, the Sooners crushed the Texas A&M Aggies in Norman, Oklahoma 77-0.
Truth #2 - On October 3rd, 1977, OU’s Billy Sims made the cover of Sports Illustrated.
Truth #3 - The 1977 Oklahoma Sooners had a 10–2 overall record and a 7–0 Big Eight conference record and played in the Orange Bowl. This was Switzer’s third undefeated season out of five as head coach in 1977.
Myth - OU has always been named The University of Oklahoma. Actually it was originally named the Norman Territorial University upon it’s inception in 1890. It was later changed to the University of Oklahoma in 1907, upon Oklahoma’s granting of statehood.
