The Sooners Looking To Find The Right Mix In The Defensive Backfield

The Sooners secondary is loaded with talent heading into 2014, but will need to replace two established players who were key fixtures the last couple of years.  With both Gabe Lynn and Aaron Colvin moving on to try their wares in the NFL, it is now up to Coach Wright and Coach Stoops to field able replacements.  They have some experienced players and some new talents to come up with the starting five (2 corners, 2 safeties and a nickel back), not too mention a strong rotation.  Ahmad Thomas and Hatari Byrd are two names that continue to surface as athletic players who are ready to step up and fill a void.  Quentin Hayes may not start, but should figure into the rotation.  Sanchez has all but locked-up a starting position at corner.  Spring ball will be crucial to finding the right mix to field a secondary next fall that rivals the other areas of the team.  Like most of the Sooner Nation, I am confident that the Stoops will rise to the task.  Boomer!
